There are not many details revealed about the Nephite calendar in the Book of Mormon, but we can glean a few things from the text. The Nephites had years and months. Months are referred to as "the first month", "the second month", etc., the highest month mentioned being the twelfth month.

John L. Sorenson, a Mesoamerican archeologist, has reconstructed the Nephite calendar:
